While the nation is gripped by the BBC’s tribute TV show ‘The One and
Only’, music fans in Wigan will have the chance to backcomb their hair,
touch up their eye make up and indulge in some live ‘80s nostalgia this
month.
Hit show ‘The Magic of the 80s’ comes to The Monaco Ballroom in Hindley
on Sunday 24th February. The fast moving live music spectacular features
40 hit songs from the decade that spawned the likes of Boy George,
Madonna, Blondie, Duran Duran, The Human League and Wham!
The show recently toured the UK supporting Bananarama, Howard Jones, Go
West and Marc Almond and features the vocal talents of former Bad Boys
Inc lead singer Matthew Jones.
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust Leisure Venues Manager Brian Yates said:
“This is the perfect evening out for all fans of the 80s era - a perfect
way to meet up with friends and indulge in some 80s’ nostalgia and great
fun. We have hosted lots of successful tribute nights at the Monaco but
this pulls together lots of popular artists all on one night. We are
looking forward to a great party atmosphere. Whether its Club Tropicana
or Baggy Trousers that takes your fancy, the night promises something
fun for everyone.”
‘The Magic of the 80s’ comes to The Monaco Ballroom in Hindley on Sunday
24th February.
Tickets, priced at £10, are available now from the Tourist Information
