‘Remember, Remember the 5th November’ that’s
the message Leigh Indoor Sports Centre is sending out to sport and
fitness fans in Leigh and across the Wigan Borough.
A temporary marketing suite for the sports centre will open at
neighbouring Leigh Sixth Form College on Monday 5th November while work
to complete the centre in time for its full opening in January continues
apace.
To encourage residents to enjoy the benefits of this state of the art
facility, a special introductory offer of just £60 for four months
Profiles membership is available to those people who join before the end
of December 2007. This entitles customers to a free induction, full use
of the gym’s 65 work stations and free swimming.
The first 100 members will also receive a special introductory goodie
bag. As an extra incentive, if the gym facility opens any earlier than
expected, members will get the extra usage for free.
Leigh Indoor Sports Centre Manager Mike Woodruff said: “We are keen to
give as many people as possible a chance to use this great new facility.
We have deliberately set the prices at an affordable rate because we
want this to be a sports centre for all people living locally and across
the borough.
“The sports centre is at the very heart of Leigh Sports Village which is
progressing into one of the best facilities of its type in the North
West. We are very proud of what we’ve achieved and I would urge people
to come along and see for themselves what is on offer.”
The £6.4m sports centre, funded by Greenbank Partnership, Wigan Council
and Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, is expected to open on Wednesday
2nd January 2008.
Leigh Indoor Sports Centre includes:
• Swimming pool – a 25m, six-lane pool suitable for regional galas with
