Haigh Hits New High
Haigh Hall’s ambitious venture to launch a traditional Sunday Carvery is
proving to be so popular with visitors that catering staff have decided
to expand the service they offer.
Over 3,500 people have feasted at Haigh since the Sunday Carvery was
launched in October last year. To keep up with the demand, from August
onwards Haigh Hall’s Sunday Carvery will be served from 1pm to 7pm, an
expansion of the current 1pm to 4pm service.
Gary Povall, Catering Manager at Haigh Hall, says, “When we launched the
Sunday Carvery last year we were determined to offer people quality food
in a quality venue for an affordable price. We are really pleased at the
response we’ve had from the public, the Carvery has become really
popular with families and couples and with groups celebrating special
occasions such as christenings and anniversaries. We encourage children
to dine from the fresh food from the Carvery, but also often an
alternative menu for young ones.”
Haigh Hall’s venture into the world of Sunday catering is unique for
many reasons:
• customers get the chance to dine in an area normally closed to the
public
• ingredients are all fresh and sourced locally where possible
• the food is prepared by an experienced team of chefs lead by the
former head chef at Royal Birkdale
A family day at the Sunday Carvery can also be combined with a round of
golf at the estate’s very own Golf Complex, which is one of the regions
finest or a stroll through the 250-acres of country park and charming
woodland.
The Haigh Hall Sunday Carvery is part of Wigan Leisure and Culture
Enterprises which means all profits are re-invested into leisure and
cultural facilities for the benefit of people living in the Wigan
Borough.
The two-course Sunday Carvery at Haigh Hall is at £9.95 for adults and
£4.95 for children. Three course meals are available for £12.95 and
booking is strongly recommended. To book a place please call 01942
