Haigh Hall Spectacular Bonfire Night Goes Off With a Bang

The sky above Wigan’s ‘jewel’ was alive with all the colours of the rainbow on Sunday evening, as Haigh Hall and Country Park’s bonfire night celebration was crowned a spectacular success.

The sell-out event was enjoyed by around 2,000 revellers who witnessed an evening of fantastic family entertainment that featured a spectacular fireworks display, a roaring bonfire and a superb performance by pop star Lauren Waterworth.

Tim Sharratt, Haigh Hall and Country Park Manager, said, “We are really pleased with the way everything went and were delighted to see so many families here enjoying the evening. The fireworks were particularly great, as was Lauren’s performance; we hope the evening has been a real boost to the Hospice too. There are so many people to thank, particularly all of the volunteers and everyone who gave up their time for free; it was a real team effort.”

Lauren Waterworth was delighted to have performed at Haigh, “I have had a really busy week in London recording my new album and so it was great to come here and perform in front of my home crowd. I love bonfire night and it was extra special to be at Haigh to see such a great event.”

Haigh’s ‘Bonfire and Fireworks Spectacular’, was in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice, who it is hoped will have raised a substantial amount of funds from the event.
