Lucky Library Draw for Golborne Resident
Photo Opportunity: Mrs Henderson will be at
Golborne Library, Tanners Lane, Golborne, Warrington WA3 2AW on Friday
20th October at 2pm to collect her prize. Contact Golborne Library on

One lucky library user has become the first winner of Golborne Library’s
new prize draw!
The monthly prize draw at Golborne Library is part of a range of new
initiatives being introduced by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust to
encourage more adults to use the borough’s libraries. This innovative
idea has been hugely successful in its first month and a delighted Mrs
Henderson will now walk away with a brand new TV and DVD combination.
Sheila O’Brien, Community Library Officer, explained, “The draw is a
very simple idea but has already had a positive effect at Golborne. To
participate, a person must be a member of the library, and over 18 years
of age. Each time they take borrow an item or use the computers, they
are issued with a raffle ticket, up to a maximum of one ticket per day.
On the first Monday of each month, the winning ticket will be drawn, and
the number advertised in the Golborne Library. We hope new users will
come along and through this initiative see what a wonderful facility we
have in Golborne.”
The regular draws will take place at Golborne Library each month for the
next eleven months. Next month's lucky winner will receive a digital
camera, so there has never been a better time to enjoy the library.
Golborne Library was also the first library in Wigan to be fully
refurbished with the new Explore look that has been rolled out to all 16
libraries in the borough. Improvements included:
• access improvements
• replacement reception counter
• new shelving
• improved IT provision through purpose built IT furniture
• internal and external re-decoration
• internal and external signage
