For the best fireworks display in the region there’s only one place to
head this Bonfire Night – Haigh Hall and Country Park.
On Sunday 5th November, Haigh Hall will host a family friendly bonfire
night packed full of traditional fun set in the beautiful surroundings
of Wigan’s ‘jewel in the crown’. A spectacular bonfire and professional
fireworks display, choreographed to music, is the prime attraction of
this not to be missed evening that also features an exclusive live
performance from Wigan’s very own young pop starlet Lauren Waterworth.
Pete Waterman protégé Lauren, who is signed to Sony Records, can’t wait
for the event, “November 5th is always one of the highlights of the year
for me. There’s nothing better than getting together with family and
friends to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display and bonfire. I am
really excited about playing at Haigh Hall we are all going to have a
fantastic evening together. Haigh is the perfect venue for this type of
event and is a dream place for me to debut some new tracks from my new
album.”
To add to the enjoyment, there is a rare chance to feast at Haigh Hall’s
famous Sunday Carvery immediately before the display or during the
afternoon. Other freshly cooked hot food and autumnal treats will also
be available.
Haigh Hall and Country Park manager Tim Sharratt, said, “This really is
going to be the family event of the year for us. We have put together a
great package that includes all the traditional elements of a great
Bonfire Night celebration plus the added attraction of quality live
music and the chance to enjoy beautiful food in the luxurious
surroundings of Haigh Hall. There really is something for everyone. We
are urging people to buy tickets well in advance because of the high
demand expected – this really is the hottest bonfire ticket in town!”
This unique celebration is also in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice and
features a raffle rammed full of prizes.
Stuart Liptrot, Chief Executive of Wigan and Leigh Hospice, said, “We
are delighted that this event is being hosted by Haigh. Organised
firework displays are not only much safer, but you get to see a much
more spectacular display. Why not ‘party’ with lots of other people,
whilst at the same time helping those on life’s most difficult journey?
The Hospice would like to thank Haigh Hall for choosing us as
beneficiary of this great event. As well as having a good time people
will be helping our patients to continue receiving the service they
need. Finding over one and a quarter million pounds from charitable
sources every year is a significant challenge for us so we welcome the
support.”
In anticipation of high demand, tickets numbers are limited and early
booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment. Gates open at 5.30pm and
tickets to see the show are priced at £4.50 for adults and £2.50 for
children. Family tickets can be purchased for £12 (2 adults and 2
children).
To enjoy a four course carvery (from 4pm to 6pm) and see the fireworks,
tickets are priced at £20 per adult and £7.50 per child. A normal Sunday
Carvery will also operate between 1pm and 3pm in the afternoon.
