Get In The Swing - Free Golf Taster Sessions at Haigh
Wigan Leisure and Culture
Trust’s Active Living team are offering free golf taster sessions to the
over-50s at the prestigious Haigh Hall Golf Complex in September. The
sessions are for people unfamiliar with the game and as part of the
Trust’s Getting Wigan Active initiative, are intended to give the over-50s
an opportunity to stay fit and healthy.
“We’re looking at providing a fun afternoon for those who are wanting to
try something new. We have run several of these sessions and they have
always been really popular, many of those who have taken part have gone on
to take up golf and now play regularly,” says Alison Molloy, LEAP Support
Officer for the Trust.
The taster sessions will consist of an introduction to the basics, long
shots at the driving range, putting in the short game area and a
competition on the Himalayan putting green.
These short courses will take place on Tuesday 6th September and 13th
September 2005 between 1.00pm - 4.00pm. Spaces for the taster sessions are
limited, so advanced booking is necessary to ensure a place.
