Wigan "Museums and Galleries Month is an opportunity to celebrate the contribution museums and galleries make. The 'Travel and the Art of Travelling' theme was inspired by the 200th anniversary of the first ever locomotive and more recently the 10th anniversary of Eurostar, the principle sponsor for Museums and Galleries Month this year. We have organised a variety of events and activities from art workshops through to collections from travellers, so why not try to visit one or all of the participating venues during May," said Claire Hawkins, Heritage Officer (Community Outreach & Education) at Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust. -ENDS- Note to Editors Museums and Galleries month is organised by The Campaign for Museums.
