Christmas Comes Naturally to Mesnes Park

Christmas is what you make it!

And this Christmas you can make it extra special by creating your own little piece of festive magic with a little help from the borough's park rangers.
Throughout the year the Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust (WLCT) Ranger Service puts on a host of extremely popular countryside craft displays but the highlight has got to be their Christmas decorations master-class.

On Sunday December 14, the rangers will use their considerable woodland skills to show members of the public how to make stunning decorations with materials provided entirely by Mother Nature.

Parks Community Liaison Officer Sharon Saunders said: "The rangers have been collecting materials from our parks and woodlands and will be showing people how to make a table decoration that would great as a present and be the centre of conversation at any Christmas party.
"This event is completely free and will show that things don't need to be gift-wrapped, pre-packaged and have an expensive price tag to be special."

The demonstration is free but there will be a small charge for materials.

From 1pm onwards, the rangers will take groups of 10 at a time through the decoration making demonstration but they warn that places are filling up fast. To make sure you get a place you will need to book in advance by calling the Ranger Service on 01942 245369.
