"Capture the Moment"
Saturday 11^th October, 10.30am -12.30pm -The Turnpike Gallery, Leigh.
This artist-led drawing and printmaking workshop will take the exhibition ‘Best of 17 Years of ‘Scoop’’, from Wigan’s twin town of Angers, as a starting point to explore your and your family’s views of personal and public events. The exhibition, of 100 journalists’ photographs, covers some key events of the last 17 years from around the world.
Bring your own photographs, memorabilia and stories, a professional artist will help you to develop your own artworks which ‘capture your moment’.
Drawing materials provided.
Admission to the workshop is free, but space is limited.

Drop-in activities will also be available for families to use in the exhibition from 10.30am-3.00pm.
Interesting objects from the 20th century will also be displayed in the Turnpike Gallery, and you are invited to take part in the memories and nostalgia activity surrounding these.

An informal day where you and your family can learn basic computer and Internet skills with a Tutor. Take away a list of useful websites relating to the world changing events of the ‘Capture the Moment’ exhibition, as well as family history, the history of Wigan, collecting, antiques and memorabilia.

Saturday 11^th October, drop in between 10.30am and 3.00pm Leigh Library. Activities for children are story telling, a competition, and building board games to play with their family, all run by our Children’s Team, who also give specialist advice on children’s books, reading and learning.
