Wigan / Arts Festival May 2012

Paintings by local artists will be on display at The Wigan Plus shop and throughout The Galleries Shopping Centre with a theme of WIGAN HERITAGE – Past, Present and Future. The public will be invited to collect lists of submissions from WiganPlus and then go round the Galleries shops to “vote” for the top 5 submissions – these will remain on permanent display in the Galleries. There will also be monetary prizes for the top 5. Work should be submitted to the WiganPlus office at Standish Galleries by 12 noon Wednesday 25th April.
Entry forms are available from either Art to Art at Scholes, Standish Art Group, or the Wigan Plus shop in the Galleries.

We hold a variety of photography-related events on Thursday nights all year round, including practical photography sessions, workshops, guest speakers and competitions. Members also often take part in other events such as studio photography sessions, digital imaging workshops, photography trips, etc on other days.

Our Thursday events begin at 8.00pm. If you are visiting for the first time please aim to arrive for between 7.30pm - 7.45pm to make your introductions and have a chat before the main event begins at 8.00pm.
