How to use the Schools' Library Service

Contents

Loan credits

All Schools within the Wigan Authority are entitled to access the resources the Schools’ Library Service provides.  Each school is given an allocation of “Loan Credits” to use with this service at the beginning of each new financial year.  The number of Loan Credits is allocated to individual schools by Wigan Council and can be exchanged for the various resources we provide.

Schools wishing to use more than their allocation for the year can do so at a cost of £26 per loan.

Ordering loans

To order loans simply complete an order form stating the subject you wish the loan to cover (e.g. space) and then either post, email or fax it to us.

Collection and delivery

Once the loans have been ordered they are then delivered to the school for the beginning of each term and collected later.

Outside of these times loans may be collected from either the Schools’ Library Service premises in Bryn, or from your nearest local public library. This service is not available for Museum Loans. Please phone for to arrange any such collections.

If you would like more information on any of our services please contact the Schools’ Library Service team on: 01942 486987 or email schools.library@wlct.org.
