Access Information for Visitors

Wigan Heritage Services aim to provide all sections of the community with ready access to their heritage. Our fully trained staff are on hand to help you with any questions you may have. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome at all of our service areas. We work with the National Interpretation Service to provide translation services for you. If you would prefer to communicate with us in your own language we can arrange this for you.

Additional Site Information
Within Trencherfield Mill are the Machinery Hall and Engine House. In the Engine House you will see the world’s largest working horizontal triple expansion Steam Engine in its original location. This area is accessible by stairs with handrails or by lift
