Heritage Volunteers

Wigan’s Heritage Service has a well developed Volunteering programme, offering opportunities for all to get involved.

With activities as varied as providing help and advice at local and family history sessions, to working with local community groups, providing assistance at family events and educational workshops, or helping with the upkeep and maintenance of the mighty Trencherfield Mill Engine, there is something for everyone!

Make new friends, pass on your expertise, and share your enthusiasm for local heritage with future generations.

For further please contact: 01942 828128, or call in at The History Shop and ask for the volunteer recruitment pack.

Your Heritage Needs You!

Calling all people who remember what is was like to live in the Borough during World War II.

We are looking for reminiscences of the Home Front for a new project, and would really like to hear from you.

Contact Rachel Orme on 01942 828121.
