Wigan Archives Service
Welcome to Wigan Archives Service.
Wigan Archives Service is dedicated to caring for and making accessible,
the historical records of the Wigan Metropolitan Borough. We hold
collections of records for its people, places, businesses, churches,
societies and all manner of other organisations, preserving the history
of the entire Borough, from Standish to Lowton, from Pemberton to
Astley.
We welcome researchers from all backgrounds and institutions and will
endeavour to assist you in locating relevant material.
All the Archives information can be found by clicking the link menu at
the top of the page.
On these pages you will be able to learn more about the range of records
we look after, the services we provide for users of the archives and how
you can make best use of the resources available.
The Archives Service is located in Leigh Town Hall, Leigh and is part of
Wigan Heritage Services.
