Wigan Pier Theatre Company (established 1986)
The theatre company run several weekly drama workshop sessions for young people and adults regardless of experience.

Wigan Pier Community Theatre (aged 16 and over)
Supported by the Arts Development section, these workshops are completely free of charge and focus on theatre games, drama skills, character, script and improvisation work. They take place on a Wednesday evening in The Way We Were museum on Wallgate from 7pm until 9pm. There are no workshops during school holiday times. The Community Theatre Company was set up in 2003 and has already performed two major shows at The Mill at The Pier – “Segs, Pies & Rag ‘n’ Bone” (2004) and “The Way We Want To Be” (2005). It is a friendly group and is actively seeking new members from all sectors of the community from September.

Turnpike and Willpower Youth Theatres are well established and popular youth theatres actively involved in representing the borough regionally e.g. participating in Greater Manchester Streets Ahead festival in 2000. They also develop home grown talent through their own work and through commissioning local writers and are keen to develop links and perform to new audiences within a wider community context. e.g. a project at Hindley prison.

The group's produce a number of shows per year including drama plays, comedy etc.
