Wigan 2012

In the lead up to the London Olympic Games, Wigan Borough will be hosting a Cultural Olympiad programme.

This will be a programme of activities, events and projects for the people of Wigan Borough to get involved in. It will not only involve sport but also all aspects of culture and will be delivered by a range of partners including Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust and Wigan Council.

Projects will include:

• a cultural festival
• a sporting festival
• volunteering
• specific projects to engage young people.

'Spinnin’ for 2012'
'Spinnin’ for 2012' by Tinchy Stryder and Dionne Bromfield is the first song to be released in association with the Games, and will create the soundtrack to the Olympic Flame's 8,000 mile journey around the UK.  Check out the video and then visit the 2012 Games website and nominate a torchbearer.
