Lots of support is available for you when you leave care.

Aftercare Service

If you’ve been in care for a little while, when you leave you’ll get support from Wigan Council’s Aftercare Service. They will help you get advice on things like:

• Going to college or getting a job
• Taking care of yourself
• Finding social groups and activities
• Finding services to help you
• Helping you with money

Catch 22

If you’re aged 16-25, Catch 22 can help you with the skills you might need to run a successful home of your own. You can work with a support worker to learn about things like budgeting, shopping, cooking, legal issues, and looking after your accommodation

Budgeting

Your local Citizens Advice Bureau can help you with all sorts of money issues such as advice if you have debts, setting up bank accounts and managing your money well.

There’s Citizens Advice Bureaus in both Wigan and Leigh:
