The borough is home to the multi award winning Wigan Pier Experience, one of the countries best loved visitor attractions; along with Haigh Hall Country Park, Pennington Flash, Astley Colliery Museum and the Three Sisters Race Track. Teams of dedicated staff and volunteers run the borough’s attractions from front of house level to senior management.

Wigan also has 7.2% of the bed stock for the whole of Greater Manchester. What this means is that the 50-plus hotels, lodges and guest houses in the borough are thriving with people staying for short breaks, sporting breaks, conferences and pamper days.
The borough is also home to some of the regions largest coach operators. So not only is the local industry thriving on incoming visitors, but equally so on making borough residents into tourists elsewhere!
