The One-Stop Shop for filming in Wigan
The borough has a lot to offer - from
locations to crew - with a dedicated officer on hand to make your
production run smoothly. If you
have any questions, or if you’d like to come and see what we can offer
you, contact us and experience Wigan for yourself.

SERVICES
There is an officer on hand in Wigan to help you through the minefield of
organising your filming. This includes:
- Location searching
- Familiarisation visits
- Liaison with Local Authority and other agencies
- Crew & service providers database
- Local actors and extras
- Accommodation booking service
CREATIVE INDUSTRIES
If you are looking for crew, the Project Officer has a database of
locally based freelancers and companies. From set lighting to sound
recording, call to discuss your needs.
Currently on file, we can provide you with:
- Camera crew
- Location sound recording
- Editing
- Musical composition
- Post production
- Scrip writing
- Professional actors
- Extras
- Catering
- Film & TV lighting
There are also a number of people available looking for experience in
the industry as runners etc.
If you are based in the borough, work in the moving image industries, and
haven’t yet registered with Boomtown, get in touch with the project and
let us know what you do.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Wigan welcomes responsible production companies into the borough.
Filming permission will only be granted if sufficient insurance
documentation has been provided. All companies are asked to abide by the
code of conduct. This document ensures that filming is carried out in a
safe manner with minimum disruption.
