Performance & Talent Identification
Wigan Sports Development Units vision
for services to talent is to provide opportunities for individuals to
develop and progress to reach their full potential in sport.
Key Priorities have been highlighted for the next few years which should
ensure that talented athletes can develop in their chosen sport:
To provide a talent identification process and player pathway to
support athletes in reaching their full potential
To develop and use the talented athlete database to track the
progression of athletes competing at sub-regional / regional / national
and international level
To support talented athletes in securing external funding
To develop the FANS Scheme to support elite athletes in gaining access
to training facilities and opportunities to assist them in reaching
their full potential
To enter teams into the Champions Challenge
