Greater Manchester Youth Games

The Greater Manchester Youth Games is an annual showcase of sport and arts development in the Greater Manchester region, for young people aged 8 to 18.

The ten boroughs of Greater Manchester are involved, coming together to support the ethos of increased participation at a grassroots level. Each year over 2500 young people take part, and through the games many of these individuals are identified and encouraged to access development pathways to success.

Greater Manchester Youth Games 20th Anniversary

The 2008 version of the games is the 20th Anniversary of the event, and the County Sports Partnership is putting wheels in motion to maximise this effect. In addition, this year the Wigan Sports Development Unit are planning to run a two-day specialised Training Camp for all the young people representing ‘Team Wigan’.
