We have some superb facilities for both participants and spectators alike, as well as great venues showcasing professional sports events. We have the JJB Stadium which is host to Wigan Athletic Football Club and Wigan Warriors Rugby League Football Club.

We have a choice of six swimming pools around Wigan borough (where children 16 and under and the over 60s can swim for FREE!) including Wigan International Pool.

Numerous Sport & Leisure Centres offer the whole family a multitude of sports facilities, pastime events and keep-fit regimes, and we have many specialist venues such as Three Sisters Racing Circuit and Haydock Park Race Course. We really do have something for everyone.

You'll also find details about Wigan Sports Development Unit and the Active Living team, whose aim is to create opportunities for all individuals and groups to take part in sport and healthy recreation, throughout the Borough.

The SHAPE (Sport Health and Physical Education) website is managed and co-ordinated by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust and other key partners. Our target is to increase the number of people participating in physical activity by 3,000 each year until 2012. To do this we need you to get involved. See how you can get into SHAPE!

Play Haigh boasts a superb championship-standard course. Couple this with its challenging short course, a brilliant Himalayan putting green and fantastic catering and Pro Shop facilities, golfers of all abilities will receive both a great challenge and the best hospitality. Golf lessons are also available for everyone.
