Information & Gift
Shop
Make your first stop to find out all about the Park and pick up a map to
guide you round. The gift shop is stacked with interesting toys, gifts
and souvenirs. Details are available on walks, groups bookings,
discounts and other local attractions. The café is open every day
throughout the year, serving a selection of meals, snacks and drinks.
Craft Gallery
Lively and creative craft classes are held in the Gallery, where our
resident artists encourage people of all ages to join in. The children
can make something to take home and the adults are welcome to try their
hand at something new or just admire other people's works of art.
Nature Trails
Follow the nature trails on our guided routes through the park. Three
routes are available ranging from an easy 1.5km (suitable for pushchairs
and wheelchair access), a moderate 3km (on uneven paths), and a hard 9km
(uneven routes with steep hills).
Halls & Gardens
Formerly the home of the Earl of Crawford & Balcarres, the Grade II
listed hall dates back to 1840. Used mainly for private functions, but
the hall is also open to the public for events, such as craft fairs. The
walled gardens formerly used for growing fruits and vegetables for the
Hall are breathtaking in Summer and throughout the year, radiating a
riot of colour that can be admired by all the family.
Playground
The playground caters for children of all ages with swings, ladybird
rides, a bouncy castle and a slide - surrounded by seats for parents and
guardians.
Woodlands
Venture into the picturesque woodlands and examine the trees, ground
flora, birds, squirrels and other wildlife. The Plantations stretch
right down to the town centre of Wigan. Various routes are mapped
through the woodlands and guides are available at the Information
Centre.
Crazy Golf
A fun game of Crazy Golf is available for all of the family featuring 18
holes of twists, turns, humps and hollows. Open between Easter and

Miniature Railway
The 15" Gauge Railway takes you on an interesting and scenic ride around
the woodlands past the walled gardens and Swan Pond. Open

with the help of volunteers and community groups, the woodlands are
managed in a sustainable way while still encouraging public access.

distance of all the facilities. Haigh Hall has disabled parking
facilities and a drop-off point. Coaches are welcome.
