Summer
is fast approaching and there are plenty of outdoor activities
happening. The Festival Fever programme is full of outdoor events from
Haigh Music Festival right through to the multicultural WOW Festival. If
it’s raining don’t despair, we still have a foray of activities happening
inside from our new film screenings in the Derby Room to workshops in
the Turnpike Gallery. Take a visit to the mighty Trencherfield Steam
Engine and learn about working life in Victorian times. All the parks
including Haigh have lots to offer families this summer from making
summer baskets to listening to brass bands, bat watching to urban foxes.
Remember booking is essential for many events so we would advise to
always ring your chosen venue beforehand to avoid disappointment. WLCT
takes no responsibility for the accuracy of the information contained
within this guide.
Public transport information is available from GMPTE on 0871 200 2233.
Calls cost 10p per minute from a landline. You can also access
information via their website
www.gmpte.com
Please note: The ‘what’s on’ guide is only as good as the events that
are contained within it, so please remember to keep your entries coming
in.
Don’t forget that we also need to be informed of any changes that occur
to your activities, particularly those listed within regular events and
community events.
The deadline for the Aug/Sept/Oct 08 issue is FRIDAY 20th JUNE –
we need to have your entries before this date.
