Dear
LINC,
Driving through Wigan with my Mum and Dad this weekend, we went
through a massive puddle down near the Asda. I mean, this thing was
huge, it was like a river!
But anyway, the point is that it got me thinking about this country,
and how we don’t seem to be prepared for any kind of weather. This
is definitely weird for a country where the weather changes every
other day!
When we get a bit of rain, we end up flooded and there’s too much
water. Then a bit of sun comes out and all of a sudden there’s not
enough water, and then just to top things off, a bit of wind comes
along and blows half the country down!
It’s silly. Wouldn’t you think by now that those in charge of
building our country would catch on to this and do something about
it?
Daniel Orton,
Worsley
The LINC says: It would make sense Danny! Even better if they
could come up with some way to stop the miserable rain altogether!
Dear LINC,
How come you don’t do Single of the Month any more?
Chris Scholes,
Golborne.
The LINC Says: Thanks for your enquiry, Chris. We decided to stop
writing Single of the Month as we’re planning to give our whole
entertainment section a bit of a make-over. We’ve not quite got
round to it yet, but pretty soon you’ll find a dedicated Music
Reviews section, rather than having album reviews on their own and
bits of other music in Best of the Rest. Keep checking back to see
how we’re getting on with it!
Dear LINC,
Aren’t you ever sick of hearing people complain that there’s
nothing to do for young people in Wigan Borough? There’s absolutely
loads going on, and all it takes is for someone to have a bit of
sense about them and look for it.
If you believe what people say, everyone under the age of 18 just
hangs around on corners causing trouble, but I know lots of people
who get involved in youth clubs or do sport or try out different
things.
It
isn’t that there’s nothing to do for young people, more that people
can’t be bothered to look for what’s going on!
Nancy Conner,
Atherton
The LINC says: Well said Nancy. Of course, we’re always here to
try and make it easier to find out what is going on for young people
in the Borough, but we agree, there’s tonnes of stuff going on!
Dear LINC,
Just read your interview with Nell Bryden [In the Hotseat]. How
lucky is that!?! Like Nell I’m a female singer who plays acoustic
guitar, and whilst I can’t really bank on scooping loads of money
like that, it was definitely good to read about her career so far
and I’m going to take on some of her advice for myself!
Kelly Sadia,
Hindley
The LINC Says: Glad you enjoyed the interview, Kelly. Good luck
with your music!
