Car wash that won’t leave your wallet
dry!
Wigan and Leigh residents will be able to
get their car washed free of charge next month, courtesy of a local
children’s charity.
Young People taking part in the Fix It “Summer Challenge 2007” will be
on hand to give cars a wash and brush up on Tuesday August 14th.
Fix It is putting on the freebie to raise awareness about what it does
and to give students who are taking part in the scheme an opportunity to
show off their skills.
Programme Director, Ian Tomlinson said: “Everyone is welcome to come
along and have their pride and joy made shiny and new again. Our
trainees are ready to take on even the grimiest of motors and all we’re
asking in return is for customers to let the young people tell them a
bit about the project while they are having their vehicle cleaned.”
Fix It gives young people, between the ages of 14 and 25 the chance to
get involved in motor mechanics, DIY and sports, and there is still time
for anyone aged 16 to 19 not in education, training or employment (NEET)
to get involved in the Fix It Summer Challenge.
Ian Tomlinson adds: “We can take up to 35 young people on the summer
course, which runs until August 17th. The benefits for young people are
huge. We improve young people’s self-esteem and prepare them for the
world of work, further education and training.”
Carwash won’t leave your wallet dry

cars, workshop equipment, catering supplies, volunteers and sponsorship.
