May Mayhem in Atherton
Young people in Atherton are making the
most of their half-term holidays by taking part in a range of activities
in Morley Street Park.
The May Mayhem event put on by Wigan Council Youth Service is giving
young people the chance to take part in a high rope course, tennis, bike
repair, football, archery, board walking and problem solving.
Despite the poor weather, over 100 young people have turned out to take
part in the first two days of activities.
Children and Young People’s Services Youth Worker Dave Headon says:
“With exam time coming up it is important young people make the most of
their half-term holiday. We’ve put on these activities to get young
people out the house and to give them some active things to do.
“The weather hasn’t been great but everyone is having a fantastic time.”
