Hope,
So distant,
Hidden by a mask of words.
Clouded by a million thoughts,
But still it circles round my head.
‘What ifs’ my only lifeline,
From this distant fantasy.
Grasping on,
To nothing,
Making even nothing
Seem so much.
Waiting,
Wanting,
Hoping,
For one word,
One truth,
That will relight this flame of hope,
About to meet its destiny.
But how long can I wait?
Before I am engulfed,
In all that hope has given me.
Forever seems so far away,
But still I wait until it comes.
The chains of hope,
Around my heart,
Left and bound,
To lay and rot forever.
Hope has imprisoned me,
But still hope can set me free…
