I Haven't Got An Attitude - by Abigail Carroll

I haven’t got an attitude
It’s an attitude that owns me
And it takes over every time
That you won’t believe me.

Like when you tell me to make dinner
When I’ve just gone on the net
I would come off right away
Not to obey you would be a regret.

But the attitude takes order calmly
And it certainly won’t count to ten
So before I can move it’s shouting
No I’ve just gone on MSN!

And when you’re telling me quite clearly
Staying out till twelve is far too late,
I would say ‘your quite right mother dearest’
I’ll make sure I’m back at eight.

But the attitude is the one that’s stronger
And thinks rebelling is the best thing to do
So it makes me go out with my friends
And not come back till two.

And when you make me stay in and tidy
Because my room is such a mess
I’d strive to make it perfect
My need to please you allows nothing the less.

But the attitude won’t stay in with the Hoover
For it ain’t the cleaning type
And it makes me climb of the window
And slide down the draining pipe.

So now you know the whole story
And you have the culprit’s name,
Next time don’t shout at me,
It’s the attitude to blame!!
