What is the Children's Information Service?

Wigan Children’s Information Service offers a free, prompt and friendly service to parents and carers who are looking for registered childcare in the Borough. Our database holds details of:

  • Childminders
  • Nurseries
  • Pre-school Playgroups
  • Out of School Clubs

We can also advise parents on:

  • What to look for and questions to ask when visiting potential providers
  • Getting help to pay for childcare including Early Education funding and tax credits
