Learning Learning is
the cornerstone of Heritage Services; we aim to provide a range of
activities which are welcoming, friendly and accessible and as well as
being educational and enjoyable.
We are committed to extending and improving our learning and outreach
provision so that we meet the needs of both existing and new Heritage
users.
Our experienced Learning Team develop and deliver learning activities
across the Borough to a variety of people (from pre-school groups to
people living in specialist accommodation) in a variety of venues
(including the Wigan History Shop, parks, libraries and community
centres).
We are committed to providing learning opportunities across the board
regardless of age, location, or situation. This is exemplified in our
current curriculum development work with schools, our commitment to
Family Learning, our work within local care establishments and our
support of a number of community projects being run by local interest
groups.
We are extremely excited about the new developments at The History Shop
and Trencherfield Mill which will herald fantastic new learning
facilities for the Borough.
