Visitor Access

The History Shop
Study area, temporary exhibitions and ‘Founded on Coal’ exhibition on the 1st floor- no lift access. Shop and ‘Wigan on the Map’ on ground floor. There is a small ground floor study area, equipped with microform readers, which can be booked in advance. Staff are available to bring research materials to this room. Accessible toilet.

Trencherfield Mill
Lift available to the Engine House. Accessible toilet and parking on site

Wigan Archive Office
The search room is on the second floor, accessible by lift and ramp

Leigh Local History
The study floor on the ground floor is fully accessible

Railway and bus stations c. five minute walk. Very limited on street parking immediately adjacent. Main car parks ( see map) are all within easy walking distance.
