We have now firmly established the Wigan Food and Drink Festival in the local and regional calendar. The festival in 2012 will be one of the largest Food and Drink Festivals in the North West of England.

Festival highlights include:

Wigan Beer Festival 1st – 3rd March
Organised by Wigan CAMRA, this festival is one of the largest in England, attracting close to 4000 real ale connoisseurs. This year is extra special as CAMRA's Beer Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary.  There will be over 80 real ales, ciders, perries and foreign beers available. Along with great food and entertainment. By joining with the Wigan Beer Festival, the Wigan Food and Drink Festival can now truly boast to being one of the North West’s biggest and best.

The Food and Drink Events Programme
Across the 10 days there will be tasting events, cookery classes and demonstrations, menu launches, and very special days and nights in our partner restaurants including Jean Christophe Novelli.
 
The Kitchen Theatre  6th – 10th March
One of the most popular elements of the Festival. There will be cookery demonstrations by the borough’s top restaurant chefs along with special celebrity guests including Simon Rimmer.

Food & Drink in the Community
Returning for the second year we have once again joined forces with our Libraries and Heritage services in Wigan to provide something a little different. We have competitions for all to enter with a chance to win £25 of book vouchers!

The Wigan Fine Food Trail
This is a recommended listing of the Borough’s top eating establishments. The restaurant partners will be those that represent the best of the Borough and thus support us in our quest to change perceptions and promote a message that Wigan possesses high quality restaurants with top chefs at the helm.
