Day 1: Monday 5th March ‘Skool Dinners’. 11:00am - 3:00pm Watch the Ready Steady Cook of Wigan Schools. Four sets of young cooks (Years 10-12) go head to head for the title ‘MiniChef’. Come see and support the kitchen stars of the future. Hosted by Andy Birch of the DW Stadium.

Day 2: Tuesday 6th March Restaurant Showcase ‘There is more to this town than pastry snacks’. These were the words of Time Out Magazine. This morning sees two of Wigan Borough’s top restaurants prove this point demonstrating their signature dishes:
11:00am Gallimores The Head Chef of Gallimores Restaurant demonstrates their speciality Chicken Breast and Black Pudding dish.
12:00pm Indian Special Owner of the Spice Lounge – Wigan and The Taste of Bengal Restaurant – Standish, explains and provides audiences with a tasting of Indian starter dishes.
1:00pm Pass it On with MetroFresh Everyone loves this informative and interactive session led by Executive Head Chef of Wigan MetroFresh, Mark Holmes. Learn how to cook simple yet very healthy meals in minutes
Day 3: Wednesday 7th March World On A Plate Day! In association with Hitchen Foods
11:00am Cooking British with Head Chef Andrew Leach of the Stables Brasserie.
12:00pm Cooking World Street Food Experience an exciting showcase of fantastic, fresh 'World Street Foods' with Matt Varley, Executive Chef of Fat Olive Restaurants.
1:00pm Cooking Caribbean with Andrew Sturgess of Haigh Hall.

2:00pm Cooking French with Jean Christophe Novelli One of France’s most well known and respected Celebrity Chefs. Followed by Jean Christophe signing his Recipe Book - A Mad Frog & An English Man.
Day 4: Thursday 8th March The Culinary Olympiad in Association with Hazeldene Foods In celebration of London 2012. A day that brings together sport and food. Come along and see local sporting heroes and celebrities cook ‘good for you’ and easy to make food. There will be representatives from Wigan Athletic, Wigan Warriors as well as other local athletes present on the day. (Due to training commitments we will only be announcing the line up for today on the Food and Drink Festival Website from February 13th 2012. www.wlct.org/foodanddrink ).
Demonstrations start from 11.00am. Hosted by Andrew Sturgess and Chris Lomas of Haigh Hall.
Day 5: Friday 9th March Buy Local A day of demonstrations promoting great food, great drink and Greater Manchester! In association with Food Connect.
11:00am Just For Starters! The Head Chefs at Ashfield House Restaurant and Il Viandante at the Wayfarer – Parbold, come together to create and demonstrate fantastic starters using amongst other ingredients - local cheeses and dairy produce.
12:00pm A Cut Above! How to cook the perfect steak plus a demonstration using other regionally reared meats courtesy of the Miller and Carter Steak House at the Wiggin Tree Parbold.
1:00pm Dessert Delight! Join with the students of Wigan and Leigh College Catering School as they demonstrate and give tastings of creatively prepared sweet courses again using local ingredients.
2:00pm The 20 Mile Dinner Menu with Simon Rimmer Join with Greater Manchester based Celebrity Chef and co-host of BBC’s ‘Something For The Weekend’ Simon Rimmer for a demonstration of easy to make and delicious dinner party recipes with ‘buy local’ as the theme. Followed by Simon signing his new Cook Book – More From The Accidental Vegetarian
Day 6: Saturday 10th March Wonderful Wigan Day To finish off the Kitchen Theatre – a day of tastings and demonstrations all about Wigan – its character and characters!
10:30am Breakfast with Gallimores The now famous and popular end of festival treat. One of Wigan’s most well known and loved characters – Howard Gallimore – this morning cooks and gives tastings of regional sausages.
11:15am Raw! Join Maria from one of Wigan’s most unique eateries - the Coven as she prepares an amazing 'good for you' uncooked menu that includes a Sweet Potato and Coconut Curry and her signature 'Chocolate Heaven' dessert.
12:00pm Traditional Treats with Twists Head chef of the DW stadium Roger Varley will be demonstrating a couple of Wigan’s best loved dishes - adding a pinch of his own unique style. Co-hosted by Andy Birch of the DW Stadium and Wigan’s newest eating experience - Sharpys Fish and Chip Restaurant at the DW Stadium.
The day will close at 1.30pm when the Live Music Stage opens with music performances that include the brilliant Lancashire Hotpots!
